The Rescue-7 program satisfies the first aid knowledge and skill requirements for certification in Emergency First Aid and Standard First Aid.
The first aid requirements are outlined in the first aid Regulation 1101, recognized by the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board of Ontario.
These requirements are further recognized by Human Resources and Skills Development Canada (HRSDC) under subsection 16.12 of the Canada Occupational Safety and Health Regulation and Health Canada, clause (e), subsection 17(11), Ontario Regulation 565 of the Revised Regulations of Ontario, 1997 (Public Pools).
Rescue-7’s First Aid/CPR program is designed to cover emergency situations requiring immediate action at the workplace. The design of the course includes a safety-orientated approach throughout and involves practical training for situations found in workplaces. Each course includes compulsory lessons, practical skills and written quiz.
Instruction Time: Emergency First Aid shall be taught in a minimum of 6.5 hours. Each participant will be tested both in theory and practical skills. A score of 70% is required on the Emergency First Aid written exam to pass the course. One rewrite is allowed. Lunch and break times are separate from the course and are not included in instruction time.
Rescue-7’s Emergency First Aid wallet card and wall certificate will be issued after successful completion of all course components. The certificate is valid for three years. Candidates will also receive a separate Heartsaver CPR wallet card after successful completion of all CPR skills. The CPR wallet card is valid for one (1) year.
